This brewery visit is a nice trip, particularly if you want to see a different side of Amsterdam and leave the busy city center. It's located in Amsterdam Noord so you will have to cross the Ij. Some of our favorite beers from Oedipus are Mannenliefde and Thai Thai. Their taproom is open from Thursday till Friday and don't forget to check their calendar for special events!

Insider tip : many would say that the burgers served at the brewery, from pop-up The Beef Chief, rank among the best burgers in Amsterdam!

With four locations in Amsterdam, there sure is one on close to you. They have between 14 and 30 beers on tap and between 150 and 250 on bottle! The selection ranges from local Amsterdam beers to Belgian beers to international beers from New Zealand.

This bar on the Overtoom is close to Vondelpark and has 40 international beers on tap and more than 100 on bottle. On sunny days you can enjoy your beer on the terrace or even take a freshly tapped growler with you to the park!

# 4 Brewery 't Ij

Brewery 't IJ has really taken over the city and is available in many of the local bars. It's also worth paying a visit to the brewery with the iconic windmill - known simply to some tourists as “the windmill brewery”. It doesn't get much more Dutch than that! Especially in spring and summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the beers while feeling the sunshine on your skin.

# 3 De Prael

Another brewery that is an absolute must on your list is De Prael. Their main location is situated in the Red Light District, but they also have a spot in the Houthavens (close to Amsterdam's Westerpark) for those of you keen to venture a bit further out. The brewery supports people that have previously struggled on the job market. They offer nice brewery tours as well as regular events. In their shop you can find a large selection of different beers and souvenirs.

# 2 Delirium Café Amsterdam

The beer with the iconic pink elephant from Belgium can also be found in Amsterdam. The bigger of their two locations is located right on the waterside next to the Muziekgebouw. They have 20 beers on tap and more than 750 bottles! The cherry on top is their big terrace, which is perfect for sunny days.

# 1 Troost Brewery

Brouwerij Troost already has three locations in Amsterdam. Situated in the trendy districts of De Pijp, Westerpark and Oost, they are all perfect hotspots to take a break from sightseeing and to enjoy some refreshing beers.

Apart from that, we'd recommend a visit to Butcher's Tears and the newly-opened Walhalla tap room. Breweries Brewed by Women , Bruut Bier , Cinema Brewers , De Eeuwige Jeugd , Lowlander and Two Chefs Brewing are also located in Amsterdam if you're looking to choose something local.

What will a beer cost you? Well, the Amsterdam beer prices range for a pilsner from £ 2.20 to £ 2.60 and for craft beer from £ 3.10 to £ 4.80. A pint will approximately cost you £ 5.70. You're not obligated to tip in Amsterdam but often a tip between 5-10% is given. But enough said - better start planning your trip and have a great experience in Amsterdam!
