How to use the Beertender

In just a few steps

Designed by SEB, BeerTender is the gold standard in beer dispensers. Its 5L kegs allow you to pour around 9 delicious pints. Just activate its handle and enjoy a professionally poured draught from the comfort of your own home.

BeerTender draws inspiration from the aesthetics of bar tap systems, combining robustness and efficiency. With its user-friendly handle and electronic cooling system, experience the ritual of a professionally poured draught from your kitchen, living room or home bar. The beer machine will fit seamlessly into your space with its elegantly designed options in various colours across multiple models.

Here's how it works:

How to load a BeerTender keg

1. Cool the keg

Refrigerate your keg for a minimum of 8-10 hours. Click the service tube into the neck. Ensure to use a new tube for each new keg, as any impurities in the tube could cause abnormal foaming and degrade the quality and taste of your beer. You can find replacement tubes on our website in the "Dispenser and Keg" section.

2. Load the keg

Slide the keg inside the machine, leaving the serving tube on top. To open the machine, simply push the part below the digital display and release: the cover will open.

3. Serving tube installation

Swing the handle to the left, remove the tap spout cover, and clip the serving tube into the dispensing tube. Replace the tap spout cover.

4. Close the machine and pour!

Close the machine cover. Next, wait for the thermometer on your machine to turn green. Place a glass under the tap spout: pull the handle down for 2 to 3 seconds, then release it. The first glass will have a lot of foam. Discard the foam and rinse your glass.

How to serve draught beer

1. Wait until the beer is cold

Wait until the thermometer on the display turns green: the beer is now at the right temperature. To save time, put your kegs in the fridge before loading them into your BeerTender. That way your beer will be fresher, faster!

2. Rinse the glass

To get a perfect head, always use a clean glass rinsed in cold water. The slightest impurity in the glass could cause your beer to froth abnormally, reducing its quality and taste.

3. Tilt the glass

For a professional result, tilt your glass at 45° under the spout. This position gives you the perfect balance between beer and foam.

4. Serve

Keep your glass tilted and quickly pull the handle downwards. At the end of serving, raise your glass and pull the handle back up.TIP: If you have too much foam, your beer is not yet fresh enough or there are impurities in your glass.

5. Equalise the foam

If your foam is sticking out of the glass, remove the excess using a foam cutter. Perfect foam is about the width of the foam cutter. It protects the beer and allows it to retain all its aromas.TIP: If you're using a beer glass, a mark indicates where the foam neck should start.
