The history of...Brouwerij De Molen

De Molen was founded in 2004 by Menno Olivier and is based in De Arkduif, a historic windmill in Bodegraven, the Netherlands. De Molen’s beers have received national and international praise. On RateBeer (the largest beer review site in the world) De Molen is currently at 6th place in the list of the 100 best brewers in the world. It’s a true testimony to the quality of the beer as the list is determined by beer enthusiasts. It’s also an impressive achievement for such a small brewery because there are over 28,000 brewers on RateBeer.

Collaboration with the Philadelphia Care Home

8 to 15 people from the Philadelphia Care Home for people with an intellectual disability and difficulty finding employment work at De Molen each day. The employees enjoy working at the brewery. It’s real work and they are extremely proud to work there.

No compromises

De Molen doesn’t do compromises. Quality always comes first and they only brew beers they want to drink themselves. The recipes and brewing processes are very specific, which enables them to achieve the unique aromas, flavours and bitterness they are aiming for. You can really taste the difference this makes. Each one of De Molen’s beers is a gem and it is for good reason that they are renowned the world over!
